Gay Shorts – How to Say I Love You at Night (2020) 16:42 Mins
When Paul shows up unannounced, he catches Benny off guard, throwing their first encounter into an agonizing seventeen minutes of posturing, captured in a single take and leading to Paul revealing his true motivation.
Set in one New York City apartment and captured in a single take, two young men, Benny and Paul navigate the expectations of a first date, with one revealing something very significant toward the end. Dealing with notions of male on male intimacy, violence and socioeconomic differences, this film suggests that the differences among us are often first embedded as fears. This film premiered at Australia’s Flickerfest and has since played in Goa International in India, TallyShorts in Florida, International Shorts in Melbourne, and Manchester International Film Festival.
